When you are running a WordPress website and if  you want let  people register or create their own profiles on your website. WordPress allows you to enable user registration. In this article, we will show you how to allow user registration on your WordPress site and how to manage users.

Enabling User Registration in WordPress

To enable user registration simply go to Settings » General and scroll down toMembership section. Check the box next to ‘Anyone can register’ option.Next you need to select the default user role. The default user role is subscriber, which you can change to any other user role available. After that you need to click on the Save Changes button to store your settings.

Your WordPress site is now open for registration.

Adding Login and Register Links in WordPress

Once your site is ready for registration you may need to provide registration/login links to let your users know that they can register and login on your site.

Method 1: The Meta Widget

WordPress provide its own meta widget. This is the simplest way to add a registration/login link in a sidebar. To achieve this Simply go to Appearance » Widgets and add the Meta widget to a sidebar.

This is how the login link will appear on your website.

Method 2: Using Custom Login Pages
